Verified Gross Mass Certification Service by Indonesian Classification Bureau
Container's Verified Gross Mass (VGM) is total weight of packet container. Including cargo, dunnage & container tare itself. This weight is certified to verify it's actual gross weight.
Further, this verified gross mass will be used for stowage plan by shipping line. To ensure the stability of the ship.
To obtain verified gross mass, there are 2 method. First by measuring packet & sealed container, weighing alltogether to get actual gross mass. Second is by sum up all cargo package, dunnage & container tare.
This proccess is done by competent verificator. And shall be published as legit certificate.
As member of IMO, Indonesian Classification Bureau act as verificator to certify these container's actual gross mass.
